Leadr Advantage Overview

Get ready to experience better collaboration, increased understanding, and a boost in productivity as you help each team member thrive in their Genius.


  1. Keep clarity front-of-mind for every team member. Reinforcing and over-communicating clarity has never been easier. Leadr Advantage customers can keep the 6 Critical Questions from Patrick Lencioni's best-selling book, The Advantage, front of mind using Leadr:
  • Why do we exist? (Our Mission)
  • How do we behave? (Our Values)
  • What do we do? (Our Purpose)
  • How will we succeed? (Our Method)
  • How can we work better together? (Working Genius)

  1. Welcome to more effective team meetings. For Leadr Advantage users, Weekly Tactical Meeting templates are available in the Leadr Meetings template library. Use section headers, agenda topics, and comments for a collaborative meeting. Find your Thematic Goal, Defining Objectives, and Standard Operating Objectives at the top of your Team meetings to ensure all members are focused on what matters. Additionally, see your team's Working Genius map to give further insight into your team's strengths.

  1. Find Patrick Lencioni's exclusive content in your Leadr Advantage Learning Library. Templates containing videos from Pat Lencioni and curated questions live here so you can equip your team well.

Add Your Working Genius

  1. Locate your Profile, found by clicking on your name/profile picture in the bottom left corner of Leadr, then selecting "Profile"

  1. Scroll down to Personality Types and enter your Working Genius, Competencies, and Frustrations. If you don't know your Working Genius, select "Find out your Working Genius to navigate to the test.

NOTE: This test is not provided by Leadr. Contact your organization's admin for details.

  1. Save your Profile. For more information on how to set up the rest of your profile, visit Create Your Profile.

Set up Organizational Clarity (admin only)

  1. Admins can navigate to Admin settings by clicking on their name in the bottom left corner of Leadr, selecting Settings, then selecting the Admin tab.

  1. Ensure that Organization Clarity (and Team Clarity, if desired) is checked as a Home Widget

  1. Continue scrolling down to answer the first 4 questions of Patrick Leniconi's 6 Critial Questions

  1. Scroll all the way down to Save Settings

Create a Team & Set Team Clarity

  1. Navigate to the People page (underneath the Organization drop down menu), click on the Teams tab, then select + New Team

  1. Begin by creating a name for your team, description, then add the two Team Clarity Statements (the last two answers to Patrick Leniconi's 6 Critical Questions)

  1. Add Team Owners and Team Members, then create the team. Refer to Create and Manage Teams for more information on Teams.

NOTE: Only Team Owners can create Defining Objectives and Standard Operating Objectives for a team. There can be multiple team owners.

Set up a Tactical Team Meeting

  1. If your calendar is integrated with Leadr, create a meeting in your Google/Outlook calendar, select "Review Meetings" in the blue banner that will pop up in Leadr, select "Team Meeting", then choose a Team to link. For more information on calendar integrated meetings, view Connect Your Calendar to Leadr and Calendar Integration | Create a Meeting.

  1. If your calendar is not connected, create a Team Meeting directly in Leadr and choose a Team to link

  1. If you already have a Team meeting in Leadr, the host of the meeting can click on the 3 dots to the right of the title and select Link to a Team. For more information, view Link Teams to Goal or Meeting.

  1. After linking your Team, you should see your Working Genius Team Map. Select View All to view the breakdown of your team's genius and frustrations.

Create Defining Objectives and Standard Operating Objectives

  1. Navigate to Goals in the left hand side of Leadr (underneath the Alignment drop down menu) and select + New Goal

  1. In the Goal Type drop down, select Team Goal. Choose your Team and the objective type (Defining Objective or Standard Operating Objective.

  1. All participants of the team will be automatically added as viewers of the goal. If you'd like your teammates to have the ability to edit the goal, create action items, and update the status, add them via the Participants box and ensure they are set as a Collaborator. For more information on creating Defining Objectives and Standard Operating Objectives, view Create and Manage Goals in Leadr.

That's it! You have now set up your Tactical Team meeting, including your Thematic Goal, Defining Objective(s), Standard Operating Objective(s), and Team Working Genius map.
