Insights | Admin, Executive, or Manager

What are Insights? For Admins or Executives, Insights offers the ability to view average engagement scores for the company as well as expanded People Metrics.

Setup

Any users with the administrator account type in Leadr have access to enable and edit their engagement survey.

  1. Go to Insights
  2. Click Admin Settings
  3. Click the toggle under Engagement, so it turns to Enabled
  4. Click to select the Start Date

Note that frequency will update according to the date selected. The frequency will always be monthly

  5. (Optional) Click the toggle under eNPS, so it turns to Enabled

Note that you have to choose to include eNPS in the survey. eNPS will add one question quarterly, so every 3 surveys

  6. Click Save

Once you click Save, the following email will be sent to all active users for that organization.

When can I access my data?

  • Engagement survey data runs every hour.
  • eNPS data runs every hour.
  • Leadr Coach prompts are generated once a survey has either been completed by all users in an organization, or the survey has been closed and a new survey is available to be answered.
  • People Metrics are run every day at 8 am UTC, which means they run overnight. When Insights is enabled for an organization, they will see People Metrics the following day.

People Metrics

As part of Insights, we’ve included an expanded version of People Metrics.

The People Metrics in Insights do NOT replace the People Metrics found on the People page.

Admins and executives will see People Metrics for every member of the organization. They can filter People Metrics by department, managers' direct reports, and user groups. You can only filter by one of these at a time.

Managers will see People Metrics for all their direct reports. For managers with only one direct report, People Metrics is the only thing they will have access to when they go to the Manager view of Insights.

  • These scores can be filtered by Managers' Direct Reports, Departments, and User Groups

(Executive View Only) x% of your people are monthly active users Same as the group metric, “x% of your people have taken action in Leadr in the last 7 days”, but over the course of a month instead of 7 days

Survey Results and Data

Once enabled, Leadr Insights will send a monthly engagement survey to every active member of an organization (excluding Limited Access users).

Engagement Survey Statements

The engagement survey sends three statements to measure engagement every month. Research tells us that the strongest teams share three primary characteristics: rapport, maximization, and clarity, which is why Leadr Insights is built to measure each of these areas directly.

  • Clarity - Do you know what’s required of you to be winning in your role?
  • Maximization - Do you have the resources to perform best in your role?
  • Rapport - Do you feel connected to your organization’s mission and goals?

There are six statements in each category. Each month a different statement from each category will be asked in the engagement survey.

Engagement Data

All engagement data and eNPS are confidential. This means that an individual’s scores never surfaced to anyone specifically within Insights. A manager only ever sees the average of all their direct reports' scores, and they must have at least two direct reports to see their averages.

Executives and admins can view averages across departments, managers’ direct reports, and user groups, but there is no way to view an individual’s scores.

The graphs for Engagement are broken into several sections:

Graph Executive Manager
  • Total Engagement - Charts the Engagement, Clarity, Maximization, and Rapport scores
    • Can filter over time in 3-month increments up to 18 months
    • Can filter for specific dates in the last 18 months
  • Ability to compare across departments
    • Departments must have at least two people in the department to appear on the list.
  • Ability to compare across manager’s direct reports
    • Managers must have at least two direct reports to appear on the list
  • Ability to compare across user groups
    • User groups must have at least two users in the group to appear in the list
  • Must have at least two direct reports to view

eNPS Data

The graphs for eNPS are broken up into two sections:

Graph Executive Manager
  • eNPS - Charts the eNPS score (-100 to 100)
    • Can filter over time in 3-month increments up to 18 months
    • Can filter for specific dates in the last 18 months
  • Ability to compare across departments
    • Departments must have at least two people in the department to appear on the list
  • Ability to compare across manager’s direct reports
    • Managers must have at least two direct reports to appear on the list
  • Ability to compare across user groups
    • User groups must have at least two users in the group to appear in the list
  • Must have at least two direct reports to view
  • eNPS breakdown - Charts the percentage of passives, detractors, and promoters
    • Can filter over time in 3-month increments up to 18 months
    • Can filter for specific dates in the last 18 months
  • Only available when filtering by the organization

Leadr Coach

Leadr Coach provides prompts with actions that executives and managers can take within Leadr to help improve their engagement category scores. The prompts link to other sections within Leadr where these actions can be performed.

With every survey, there will be three executive prompts and three manager prompts generated - one each for rapport, clarity, and maximization.

Leadr Coach prompts only generate after everyone in an organization has completed a survey or when the next month’s survey is available. This is to prevent prompts from changing while an organization still has an active survey that is being responded to.

Account Types Access

Admins

  • Admins have access to both Surveys and Insights.
  • Within Insights, admins have access to the executive view. If an admin is a manager, they will also have access to the manager view of Insights.
  • Admins are the only users that can enable and disable engagement surveys and select their frequency.
  • Admins can answer the engagement survey from Insights or Surveys.
  • Within Surveys, admins can create and submit custom surveys.

  • Executives have access to both Surveys and Insights.

  • Members have access to submit engagement and custom surveys. Within Surveys, they can create custom surveys.

Limited Access

  • Limited Access users only have access to Surveys. They can only submit custom surveys that are sent to them. With limited access, users cannot create custom surveys.
  • Limited, Access users are NOT included in engagement surveys. This means they do not have engagement or eNPS data available in Insights.

Managers

  • Managers are determined based on if the user is defined as a manager for any other users in Admin > People. Managers can have varying account types.
  • Managers have their section of the Insight dashboard. The manager must have at least two direct reports to see engagement survey results. A manager can view People Metrics within Insights if they only have one direct report.
  • Managers can answer the engagement survey from Insights or Surveys. To learn more about Insights as a Manager, check out this article (insert button).

Active, Invited, Imported, and Deactivated

Users must be active in Leadr the day before the engagement survey is sent to receive it. If a user becomes active the day of or the days after, they will receive an engagement survey in the next month.

Invited, imported, and deactivated users will not receive the engagement survey.

What happens to data when a user is deactivated?

The user will not be included in any future engagement surveys. For any previous engagement surveys, their responses will be included.

They will be removed from People Metrics the day after they are deactivated.
